Honest answers
How accurate is the estimate?
Runrate rebuilds each channel's last 30 days of views video by video, then prices them with the pay rates of its niche, its audience's countries and its video lengths, taken from real creator earnings. We test the model against channels whose creators published their real YouTube income.
We show a middle number and a likely band. The band is the middle half of thousands of model runs with realistic variation in pay rates, watch time and audience.
Where does the data come from?
From the YouTube Data API: subscriber count, total views, and each upload's date, length and views, combined with pay rate research from real creator earnings.
Why a range and not one exact number?
Two channels with the same views can earn very different amounts. Pay per view changes with the niche, where viewers live, video length, the season and ad blockers. A range is the honest answer, and the middle number is our best single guess.
What does RPM mean?
RPM is revenue per mille: what a creator earns for every 1,000 views after YouTube takes its share. It is different from CPM, which is what advertisers pay for 1,000 ad impressions.
Long videos and Shorts have very different RPMs, so we estimate them separately.
What are the YouTube Partner Program thresholds?
To earn from ads a channel needs 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10M public Shorts views in the last 90 days.
A lower tier for fan funding starts at 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in 90 days, and 3,000 watch hours or 3M Shorts views.
YouTube raises the bar for new channels on Feb 1, 2027: 8,000 watch hours in 12 months or 20M Shorts views in 90 days. Sponsor deals and merch are not part of our ad estimate; where it makes sense we show sponsor value as a separate card.
What is free and what is in Pro?
Free shows the estimated monthly ad earnings with its likely range, the reasons behind it, the earnings split and views per video, for 2 channels a day. No account needed.
Pro adds unlimited scans, time to monetize with what ifs, the Feb 2027 rule check, the full pace analysis and live tracking of 3 channels. It costs $7 a month, or $34.99 once for life.
Is Runrate part of YouTube?
No. Runrate is an independent tool and is not affiliated with YouTube or Google. It uses the YouTube API Services and follows their terms.
